Hello everyone,
£10,000 profit from the FIREWORKS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!
What a week it's been at Sheet Primary! Despite the relative quiet, we had a burst of excitement yesterday with the snow. It's always amazing to see how a bit of the white stuff can light up our pupils' faces, isn't it?
Speaking of the cold weather, it's definitely made its presence known. Please make sure your children are bundled up warm when they come to school. Layers are key, and don't forget those warm coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. We want everyone cosy and ready to learn! Also, as it's 'cough & cold' season too, please can we ask each family to donate a box of tissues and would anyone donate some 6+ calpol or equivalent? We give this out during the day following consent however we get through quite a bit.
Reminder: If your child is ill, please telephone the school office on each day of any absence.
We're on the lookout for two new governors - a parent governor and a co-opted governor from our community. Fancy helping us raise achievement standards and improve education at Sheet Primary? Our governing body plays a crucial role in the school's effectiveness, bringing a wealth of experience from various backgrounds. Don't worry if you're not an education expert - all you need is enthusiasm, commitment, and an interest in education. Check out the attachments for more details, and feel free to pass them on to friends or colleagues who might be interested.
Next week, our Kestrels class is in for a treat! They're off to Petersfield Museum for a fantastic workshop that brings wartime history to life. They'll explore real evacuees' experiences in Petersfield during World War II, connecting with both the evacuees' stories and those of the generous locals who opened their homes. It's a brilliant way to wrap up their history topic. The children will head out after an early lunch in their uniforms (don't forget those sensible walking shoes!) and will be back in time for the end of the school day.
Next Friday is the closing date of the Henry Adams Christmas Diorama Competition. Please drop any entries to the Henry Adams office or into school by Friday 29th. All entries receive a small prize and the winning entry, a fabulous Lego set.
Talking of Christmas, rehearsals for the Infant nativity are going well - is anyone with a large car able to help collect the staging from TPS on Wednesday 4th December at 4 pm? If so, please let the office know. Oh, and here's a reminder for your diaries - Santa's sleigh will be making its rounds on Saturday, 7th December. Catch it at Pooh Corner at 17:00 and Tilmore Gardens at 17:45. It's always such a magical sight! See all of the Christmassy things FOSS have organised too!
That's all from me for now. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, my door is always open. Here's to another great week at Sheet Primary!

PS: I have attached a leaflet from 'Thrive 365' on sleep for you as part of our mental health drive here at school. Sleep for everyone is so important for wellbeing. We shall have a leaflet on a different topic each week.
