Hello everyone,
I'm bursting with pride and excitement to share all the fantastic things that have been happening in our school community.
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. The positive responses to our parent survey have been overwhelming, and your words of encouragement (not to mention the biscuits!) have meant the world to us. It's moments like these that remind me how lucky we are to have such a supportive school family.
The inspectors have come and gone, and while we can't share the specifics just yet, we're expecting the official report within the next 30 working days, and you can bet we'll be sharing it with you all as soon as it lands on my desk.
I can't help but beam with pride when I think about how our children and staff rose to the occasion. They went above and beyond, as always, to ensure we were well-prepared and ready to showcase the very best of Sheet Primary. There were quite a few late nights (the lights were on in school well into the evening!), but it was all worth it. A special shout-out goes to our governors for their unwavering support throughout this process. Your dedication to our school is truly appreciated.
But life at Sheet Primary doesn't stop for Ofsted! We've had a jam-packed week full of exciting events and opportunities for our pupils. Our School Council has been busy playing a crucial role in the interview process for two teaching candidates so far. It's wonderful to see our young leaders taking an active part in shaping the future of our school.
On a lighter note, we celebrate Mrs Child's birthday today. I hope you'll join me in wishing her many happy returns!
Looking ahead, we've got some fantastic events on the horizon. Mrs Burford, Mrs Hines, and I are off to the O2 Arena for our annual singing show with the junior children. It's always a highlight of the school calendar, and I can't wait to see our pupils shine on that big stage!
For our sporty Year 3 and 4 pupils, there's a multi-skills event coming up at Bohunt School. Don't forget to sign your child up if you haven't already. It's all part of our commitment to sports and physical activity here at Sheet Primary, which we're able to offer through our fantastic partnership programme with Bohunt sports partnership.
We will also have some special visitors this week. PCSO Tanya Manns and PC Loz Bourne will drop by for a meeting with me. It's always great to strengthen our connections with the local community and ensure we're working together to keep our children safe.
Speaking of safety, mark your calendars for February 11th – it's 'Safer Internet Day'! This is where the children go 'off curriculum' with a day filled with important online safety messages. This year we will have a celebration assembly at the end of the day where the classes will showcase the important things that they have learnt, everyone is welcome! To further support this important initiative, we're organising a whole-school TEAMS meeting at 6pm for parents only focusing on smartphone use. Keep an eye out for the link – it's a great opportunity for us all to learn more about keeping our children safe in the digital world.
Our staff will be busy with professional development too. Mrs Child will attend a SENCo conference, while Mrs Beenham will continue her Forest School training. These opportunities help us stay at the forefront of educational best practises and bring fresh ideas back to our classrooms.
As if all that wasn't enough, we're continuing our search to fill our teacher vacancy. The interview process is in full swing, and we're committed to finding the perfect addition to our Sheet Primary family.
As I wrap up this newsletter, I'm once again struck by how much we've accomplished in just one week. From Ofsted visits to birthday celebrations, from planned singing performances to sports events, from professional development to pupil leadership – it's all happening here at Sheet Primary.
I want to close by saying how incredibly proud I am to be the Headteacher of this amazing school. The dedication, resilience, and enthusiasm I see every day from our pupils, staff, and wider school community never fails to inspire me. Together, we're creating a vibrant, nurturing environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
